Prayer Request & Funny Carlo Story

Okay beautiful people, I am coming before you, once again, to plea for prayer.
Tomorrow morning, my amazing little niece Hope (6 months) is going in for surgery. They will be removing some bumps from her face that developed in the womb the same time that her right ear mis-developed. They will also be echo testing her hearing in that ear while she's under. Please pray that she is kept safe and totally healed in Jesus' name. Also, please pray for strength and wisdom for the medical staff that comes into contact with her.
And, PLEASE pray for my sister Holly. She is somewhat afraid of the possible side-effects the anesthesia could have on her baby daughter. Pray for peace and strength in Jesus' name for her.
Above all, pray that His name be glorified in the whole process.
Thank you so much.

Now, for that funny story...

Carlo making a funny face

The other day I was driving to Barnes & Noble with (only) Carlo in the backseat. He's 5 and needed a break from everybody - as did I. We have the Christmas music station going non-stop in the car, so I was singing along to Jimmy Buffett's rendition of "Meli Kaliki Maka" which I so totally know because we had the Bing Crosby album while I was growing up. Anyway, when the song was over, I glanced in the rearview mirror and said, "Meli kaliki-maka, Carlo."
Without missing a beat, he responded, "No comprendo."
I laughed so hard I cried.

Thankful Thursday - ALREADY?!

Yes, it's true, I've been so consumed with house, home, children, homeschooling, Christmas hoopla, etc. that another week has flown by and I haven't posted! I'm so ashamed! I have pics from the much talked about trip to the beach, a funny story about Carlo, and some griping about hormones to do... But, all that will have to wait, because today is Thankful Thursday, and I am giving God center stage.
He deserves it.

Today, I am thankful for the Joy He pours out on me. What a great gift!

I am thankful for the Peace He restores to my soul when I (finally) turn to Him in the midst of my rebellious, thunderous, fuming moods.

I am thankful for God's great and all-consuming Love.

Finally, I am thankful that Jesus, in His pure humility and love for us, came as a baby: a small bundle of flesh and blood and sweetness, cries and sighs, so that we could KNOW HIM! So He could sacrifice Himself. So He could spend eternity with us.

What wondrous Light. I am so filled with awe and love. Thank you Lord.

Thankful Thursday

Wow... it's Thursday already? And I totally flaked last week. Alright here we go...

I am thankful for God's infinite mercy and good, good grace.

I'm thankful for Nick's safe flight home on Monday. He made it out of Nebraska before the super snow hit! YAY!

I'm thankful for the great fellowship I enjoyed tonight at the Ladies Christmas Cookie and Ornament exchange. It was so fun and all the cookies were delicious. Thank you Emily for being the super-hostess, it was amazing!

I am thankful for Andrea Bocelli's new Christmas CD. It is gorgeous, fun, and really made my baking frenzy easier. ;)

I'm thankful for the great JOY falling in the Spirit at the prayer room. Sweet, rich, love!

Be blessed everyone!

Praise Jesus! Coleman is Cancer Free!

Big Time Praise Report!
Coleman is cancer-free in the name of Jesus! I got an amazing, beautiful, blessed email from my Aunt Nona who is Coleman's grandma. He's gotten a clear bill of health and NO MORE TREATMENTS! I am so happy to bring you all this news and to thank each of you for your prayers and intercession.

Ring this bell 3 times well, its toll to clearly say
My treatment's done this course is run, and I am on my way!

To all our Friends and Family:
We could not have asked for things to turn out better for our son and our family.
This was but a speed bump in Coleman's life
and something that will make him better and stronger man one day!!
We thank you for all of your love and support.

Here is the email dated 12-3-2009:

Well we got some GREAT news today. Coleman is cancer FREE. Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually he is in remission and does not have to have any more treatments. He has to go every 6 weeks to be checked and make sure the cancer is still not there. His last treatment was on November 19th. He has been going to the hospital all week having tests ran and the Doctor gave us the good news this afternoon.

I want to say a very BIG THANK YOU for all your prayers and words of comfort. This would not have happened without all of you and the wonderful power of prayer.

Coleman's hair is starting to grow back. He says he has peach fuzz on his head.
